Scientists at The Scripps Research Institute have developed a new interface called Tangible Interfaces for Structural Molecular Biology. The system combines 3-dimensional printing (ex: Z-Corp) with augmented reality (AR) into an interface to examine molecules. By using a digital video camera and AR software, the computer tracks points on the printed model and provides additional layers of information through AR, all of which is manipulated physically.
