These animals are still conscious. Imagin being traped in your own body, your own mind and not having the ablitly to control it. I mean don't get me wrong. The ablity to actauly simulate and to be able to mimic the nervious system so precise that we could control the flight of a bird or to be able to direct and control an animal is amayzing but also sadistic in a sence. We could apply this technolgy to cripples, or we could replace or repair damaged nervious systems within the human body. This could be the next device to replace pace makers. This could be apply on so many ways that could benift mankind but its the fact that we know that it will not be use in such away. Mankind is to obsessed with tampering with life and playing god and having control. To give someone the option to control the mind, to over power the will of any animal ..or human is to tempting. We'll use little things like Cripples being able to walk again, or someone gaining the use of their arm to cover up the reality that there this is or could be or is being used for other reasons. I completely agree with Mush in which we are not ready for something like this and that every discovery today isnt even human drivin. Its just a snow ball effect were we humans happen to stumble and fall onto ideas and possibilities but dont have the ablity to place right before wrong. But that is what the world is today, its not about moral, boundaries , limits, everything we do is drivin by this desire to go forward with every idea or discovery and use it and apply it in every means necessary to move to the next goal in human achievements....even if it is tampering with life itself . It brings us leaps and bounds closer to many things, some with great consequences, some with dyer consequences...some with both. Technology has past the stage where it pleases everyone and from here on out it'll come with the burden of ethnic and moral injustices. I have no doubt that man has no control over the progress it makes anymore. There is one question to be asked and that is...are we ready for the consequences of such research? Then answer right now is no. Another question would be ...even if we weren't read, would technology stop progressing?..the answer to that is NO.
