The ReBioGeneSys can simulate conditions on any planet in the universe, and given enough time, create new life from them. At the University of Michigan, conceptual artist Adam W. Brown has assembled an installation of glass beakers, hot plates, and rubber tubes.

‘Collective works’ is a production process which is just fully functioning when people pay attention to the producing machine. Reacting to its audience, the process translates the flow of people into an object.

We sometimes come across gigantic 3D printing projects that send your imagination racing, but these generally involve an equally large 3D printer. Just this week we’ve seen an actual lawnmower being printed with a garage-filling machine.

3D Printing Circuits Gets Rid of the Box Altogether http://www.futurefeeder.com/2015/01/3d-printing-circuits-gets-rid-of-the-box-altogether/ http://www.futurefeeder.com/2015/01/3d-printing-circuits-gets-rid-of-the-box-altogether/#respond Fri, 23 Jan 2015 01:35:31 +0000 http://www.futurefeeder.com/?p=1366

Many think that the next big step in 3D printing is when we’ll be able to print in metal, well, at an affordable rate. But what about printing in metal and plastic at the same time? The thing is, most electronics are typically two-dimensional.

Nobumichi Asai and a team of digital designers and make-up artists return with a new video expanding on their “Omote” real-time face tracking and 3D projection mapping idea. They now refer to this as “face hacking”.

Boeing 777 from Manilla Folders, A 6+ Year Effort http://www.futurefeeder.com/2015/01/boeing-777-from-manilla-folders-a-6-year-effort/ http://www.futurefeeder.com/2015/01/boeing-777-from-manilla-folders-a-6-year-effort/#respond Sun, 04 Jan 2015 00:45:06 +0000 http://www.futurefeeder.com/?p=1364

The closer you look the more you will be in awe of this shockingly intricate 777 replica. The fully-articulating landing gear alone has over 2,000 parts and 200 hours of assembly, not even including the penny-sized tires with individually-cut lug nuts. All carved from manilla office folders by hand.

Although pre-wound filament has been a go-to for ease-of-use for many 3D printing enthusiasts, the amount of users who are interested in printing from the cheaper pellet form has been growing exponentially on a seemingly monthly basis.

In most cases, if you were to 3D print a plastic christmas tree using an FDM method, the end result wouldn’t look too much like an actual tree; it would probably more closely resemble a box residing underneath the christmas tree.
