Photosynth from Microsoft Live Labs is a 3-D image reconstructor that rebuilds entire environments based on hundreds of photos taken from different angles.  The result is a web based photo browser that stitches photos into a seamless  panorama in a true 3d environment.  Think web based QTVR stitcher on steroids.

A Force More Powerful http://www.futurefeeder.com/2006/03/a-force-more-powerful/ http://www.futurefeeder.com/2006/03/a-force-more-powerful/#comments Sat, 11 Mar 2006 15:20:08 +0000 http://futurefeeder.com/?p=803

A Force More Powerful is the first and only game to teach the waging of conflict using nonviolent methods. Destined for use by activists and leaders of nonviolent resistance and opposition movements, the game will also educate the media and general public on the potential of nonviolent action and serve as a simulation tool for academic studies of nonviolent resistance.

OGLE : 3D Screen Capture http://www.futurefeeder.com/2006/01/ogle-3d-screen-capture/ http://www.futurefeeder.com/2006/01/ogle-3d-screen-capture/#comments Wed, 25 Jan 2006 03:22:32 +0000 http://futurefeeder.com/?p=754

OGLE (The OpenGLExtractor) is a software package that allows for the capture and re-use of 3D geometry data from 3D graphics applications running on Microsoft Windows. It works by observing the data flowing between 3D applications and the system’s OpenGL library, and recording that data in a standard 3D file format. In other words, a ‘screen grab’ or ‘view source’ operation for 3D data. Grab city-scapes from Google Earth, characters from Warcraft, Second Life, etc.

Virtual Autopsy http://www.futurefeeder.com/2005/11/virtual-autopsy/ http://www.futurefeeder.com/2005/11/virtual-autopsy/#comments Wed, 30 Nov 2005 00:29:10 +0000 http://futurefeeder.com/?p=684

During the past 18 months, radiologists in Sweden have performed more than 100 virtual autopsies on murder victims, according to Anders Ynnerman, a professor in the Department of Science and Technology at Linköpings University, who also works at the Center for Medical Image Science and Visualization (CMIV) in Linköping. Ynnerman says evidence from virtual autopsies has been used to clarify the cause of death in several criminal trials in Sweden.
